• Development and improvement of KASP markers for application in breeding programmes.
• Generation, quality control and management of SNP array data to ensure efficient delivery for marker discovery and genomic selection applications.
• Contributing to the development of internal bioinformatics platforms, and utilising these platforms.
• Implementation of genomic selection methods in cereal breeding programmes: liaison with breeders and statisticians to ensure delivery of genotype data and to co-ordinate analyses. Review of results from analyses.
• Genetic mapping, QTL and association genetic analysis using breeding and experimental populations.
• Monitoring latest research for developments in cereal genomics methods. Identifying opportunities for incorporation into routine marker-assisted selection.
